September 2013: Tech Search Term Trends

To do so, it’s good to remember companies have two obsessions – revenue and productivity. By analyzing the searches America’s hiring managers are using to find tech talent on Dice, it’s time to take notice of this group:

  • KnockoutJS, AngularJS, EmberJS and BackboneJS – These Javascript-based frameworks are designed to help developers build apps quicker. With the framework handling the basics, web developers can spend their time adding features that make their app stand apart. With a 1.8 percent unemployment rate for this talent, companies need to get the most high-value work out of the web developers they can attract and retain.
  • Jenkins – This open-source continuous integration tool helps software developers build all the time and avoid “integration hell” by reducing rework, costs and time. While Jenkins has been around for a while, hiring managers and recruiters are making it more prominent in their resume searches. A lot of companies utilize Jenkins, including our development team at Dice.
  • Elastic Path – If you just look at trends in job postings, nothing would stand out to you about this ecommerce platform. But, the emergence of new trends often occurs first in our resume database, simply because 80 percent of employers search resumes before posting their job. Those searches make Elastic Path one to watch.
  • HL7 – HL7 is a framework and related standards for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information. In the second quarter of 2013, Health Level Seven International made much of its IP freely available under licensing terms with the goal of reducing barriers of adoption. From search trends in the Dice resume database, goal accomplished.
